Jaydia Martin hit two free throws with no time left on the clock to lift the Hudson’s Bay girls basketball team to a 42-41 win over Kelso on Friday.
Kelso made a free throw with 3.6 seconds left to take a 41-40 lead. The Eagles inbounded to Martin, who tried to take a shot at the top of the key but was fouled.
The foul was ruled to come before the shot, so Martin got two free throws in the double bonus. She made the first to tie the game. Kelso called timeout to tie her, then Martin made the second.
“Nothing but net,” Bay coach Michael Rainville said. “On both of them.”
Martin finished with a game-high 21 points and added nine rebounds. Kamelai Powell added six points and nine rebounds. Gabriella Garcia had a pair of 3-pointers.
