The Falcons made their free throws down the stretch to put away the visiting Plainsmen and keep pressure on 3A GSHL No. 1 Kelso.
In the fourth quarter, Prairie made 11 of 12 free throws.
“We didn’t start the year off well, but whatever we are doing is working,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said of his team’s free-throw shooting.
Matthew Kogler came off the Prairie bench to record a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dante Heitschmidt also had 15 points for the Falcons (15-5, 5-1).
Brock Schoene and X’Zayvier Washington contributed some big 3-pointers for Evergreen (7-8, 3-3). Schoene finished with 12 points and Washington had 11. Jeremy Harju also scored 12 for the Plainsmen.
