Battle Ground Health Care seeks volunteers to greet patients, schedule appointments and activate patient files.

Bloodworks Northwest seeks ambassadors to assist with registration at blood drives, and monitors to keep an eye on donors after they give blood, hand out drinks and snacks and provide a welcoming atmosphere.

CDM Services is seeking “elder friends” to be matched one-on-one with isolated elders. A minimum commitment of four visits per month for a year is requested.

Clark County Veterans Assistance Center needs volunteers to greet veterans and direct them to resources after determining the type of help needed. Schedule appointments, make coffee, prepare light food items and answer phone calls.

Northwest Association for Blind Athletes needs volunteers to assist with a swim clinic Jan. 28 in Vancouver.

The Southwest Washington Amphibian Monitoring Project, a citizen-led science project, needs volunteers. There will be training for new volunteers, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the science building at WSU Vancouver, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

Training will cover identifying and monitoring frogs and toads and, specifically, counting eggs from red-legged and chorus frogs, and northwestern and long-toed salamanders in local ponds and streams. Guest speaker John Romansic will present his research on how beavers affect amphibians.

Clark County Repair Café is looking for volunteers who like to fix, fidget, or tinker, to help at its first 2018 event, 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at Habitat for Humanity, 10811 S.E. Second St., Vancouver. There will be training for new volunteers, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the same location. Training will cover safety, the organization’s purpose, volunteer roles, and liability. At events in 2017, 40 volunteers diagnosed and fixed a variety items, without charge. They fixed bicycles, small appliances, electronics, clothes, tools, knives and jewelry, serving over 400 community members and fixing 220 items at about an 80 percent success rate.

Clark County seeks to fill five positions on its 13-member Clark Communities Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, for four-year terms.

All Clark County residents may apply, and people with experience in advocating for biking, walking, transit, active transportation, mobility issues, public speaking or serving on boards and commissions are encouraged to apply.

Meetings are typically 6 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. Other activities may require four to six hours monthly.
