Washougal — Hathaway Elementary School hosted a Dream Big event on Dec. 6 where students got to meet with representatives from various fields.

The presenters were split into four quadrants: home and family, education and careers, hobbies and recreation, and community and service. Students met with parents and community members from various professions and hobbies, such as yoga, nursing, engineering, audio mixing, teaching, motocross, professional sports and the Navy.

Guests included former NFL player Alundis Brice, who won a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Dallas Cowboys in 1995; Washougal School District Human Resources Manager Marian Young and Dustin Woods, a geotechnical engineer and Hathaway parent.

“Our goal in Dream Big was to equip Hathaway’s students with the ability to ‘time travel,’ meaning to see their futures in more than one dimension,” Dana Wilson, president of the school’s booster club, said in a release from the district. “Students had the opportunity to learn about various careers, hobbies, cultures and subjects to promote healthy home life.”
