Nothing too exciting happening in our weather department besides lots of gray clouds and some moisture. Another storm rolls inland Wednesday and Thursday bringing more rain and breezy conditions. Rainfall amounts will be heaviest to our north but still a good soaking for all.
Winds will be blustery long the coast and inland valleys but nothing out of the ordinary. After that, things clear off Friday, and as of this moment, we have a dry weekend on tap. Of course that is always subject to change, but let’s go for a dry one. Snow will fall in the higher ski areas this week and occasionally at pass levels but still not a robust weather pattern for massive mountain snows.
Things look like they may be more progressive next week, with numerous storms heading our way so we hope for mountain snows. We’ll see if that develops besides present indications of warmer and drier than normal.
Last year about this time, I was asking readers if they had enough of winter weather? Cold air kept funneling down the Gorge from the Columbia Basin with numbing wind chills. And I mentioned, moisture was moving northward and we could expect inches of snow with heaviest amounts north of downtown Vancouver. We all know what took place. Snowed in, particularly on the west side of the county where 14 inches of snow fell in Salmon Creek and Felida.
