Nominees for Week 4 winter sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 7.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

KERISSA ANDERSEN, EVERGREEN GIRLS BOWLING: Andersen averaged 217 over four games, including a 266-game, as Evergreen remained unbeaten on the season.

BEYONCE BEA, WASHOUGAL GIRLS BASKETBALL: Bea had 33 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Hockinson and added another 17 points in a win over Skyview.

ALLISON BLAINE, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS WRESTLING: Blaine recorded four pins in her five matches to win the 135-pound division at the Kelso Girls Invitational.

ROB MEAD, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS SWIMMING: Mead posted state-qualifying times in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke in a meet with Skyview, Hudson’s Bay and Fort Vancouver.

ALEX SCHUMACHER, SKYVIEW BOYS BASKETBALL: Schumacher scored 15 points and 23 points as the Storm remained unbeaten with wins over Camas and Union.
