Starting in February, Columbia Springs will begin training new volunteers as leads and docents.
Volunteer leads head up crews during habitat restoration projects, host activities, do community outreach and assist with elementary field trips.
Docents are educational guides, trained to host activities, guide tours and create environmentally focused educational demonstrations at Columbia Springs’ 100-acre natural area at 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway in Vancouver.
Lead training will be held at Columbia Springs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 3 and 10.
Volunteer docent training sessions will be held at Columbia Springs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Saturday, Feb. 3 through March 31, excluding March 24.
