Clark County — The Vancouver USA Singers are now taking applications for their 2018 Youth Scholarship. The scholarship winner will get $1,000 to further vocal studies, and will perform with the group at its June 2 and June 3 concerts. The application is available at www.vancouverusasingers.org.
Applicants must be high school students in Clark, Skamania, Cowlitz, Columbia or Multnomah counties. Each applicant must prepare a piece from the genre of classical, opera or Broadway theater and submit a recording in MP3 format no later than 5 p.m. Friday, March 30. Some applicants will be chosen for live auditions before a panel of judges, held at 5 p.m. on April 16.
The winning applicant will be notified by April 30. Dress rehearsals and the final performances are scheduled for May 29-30 and June 2-3.
