The college recruiting season is heating up for the area’s top football players.

Wednesday, Hockinson quarterback Canon Racanelli wrote on Twitter that he’s received an offer to play at Southern Oregon University. If he goes there, the 2A state player of the year would hope to follow in the footsteps of Austin Dodge, a Skyview grad who broke every major NAIA passing record at SOU and won a national title in 2014.

Earlier this week, Skyview receiver Cole Grossman announced he has committed to the University of Montana. The 6-foot-5 senior has also received an offer from Wyoming.

Zio Faaopega, a defensive end for Union, has accepted a full-ride scholarship to Eastern Washington. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder blossomed during his senior year, in which he became one of the area’s best pass rushers.

Also at Union, 6-foot-5 tight end Aiden Nellor has been offered a scholarship by NCAA Division-II Central Washington, in addition to NAIA-level schools.

Beau Braden, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end at Columbia River, has received offers ranging from Central Washington to a preferred walk-on invitation at Washington State.
