The Clark County Sheriff’s Office will host a free, informational recruitment meeting for its reserve deputy program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Public Safety Complex, 505 N.W. 179th St. in Ridgefield.

Reserve deputies are fully commissioned law enforcement officers who volunteer their time to the community. Duties include routine patrol, traffic enforcement, bicycle patrol, crime scene protection, traffic and crowd control at public events, among others.

The program is ideal for adults who are unable to commit to a full-time law enforcement career.

Training is held locally and scheduled outside normal working hours. The sheriff’s office provides all required equipment and uniforms.
