A basket by Clark’s Latrell Johnson with 1:53 to play broke a 70-70 tie, and Kaden Ogles’ jumper with 14 seconds to play gave the Penguins some insurance as they won their home finale 74-71 over Clackamas on Wednesday night at the O’Connell Sports Complex.
Clackamas did get off two 3-point attempts in the final 13 seconds, but neither fell.
Clark (9-16, 5-9 NWAC South) had a 57-49 lead at the 11:29 mark of the second half, and Clackamas (15-11, 7-6) chipped away until the game was tied at 63-63 with 5:14 to play.
The Cougars never took the lead but did tie the game on three more occasions over the final 4:23.
