East Vancouver — How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Electronic submission. Or, at least, that’s how Vancouver sisters Ashley and Olivia Myers ended up performing in the famed concert venue on Jan. 22. The sisters, who are string and piano teachers at the Vancouver Music Academy, auditioned via electronic submission and were invited to play with the Annie Moses Band, a classical-crossover band that has performed around the world. The show also featured a 70-piece orchestra, three guest soloists and a 120-member choir. The sisters were members of the orchestra. Ashley Myers played the cello and Olivia Myers played violin. “It was a whirlwind of rehearsals that culminated in this amazing opportunity for us to play with others who live and breathe the love of music, just like we do,” the sisters said in a release from the Vancouver Music Academy.
