Hockinson musicians earn awards at festival

Brush Prairie — Musicians from Hockinson High School had a strong showing at the Clark College Jazz Festival.

The school’s jazz band scored a first-place finish in the AA Division. Riley Lyons, Erik Hawkins, Zeke Dodson and Jack Broer received Outstanding Soloist awards. Corey McEnry is the school’s band director.

A few students from Hockinson Middle School also earned recognition at the festival. Parker Bruning and Adam Haunreiter were recognized as Outstanding Soloists in the middle school event. Jennifer Ritenburgh is the middle school band director.
