Slow Food Southwest Washington has announced Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Day will be held Friday, Feb. 23, kicking off at a crucial time for local farmers and for consumers who can subscribe to a season’s worth of sustainable, locally grown fresh produce from them.

According to a press release from the organization, CSA members make seasonal commitments to a local small farmer, and the produce is either delivered to the member’s door or picked up at a local distribution center.

Warren Neth, Slow Food Southwest Washington executive director said: “Purchasing a CSA share from a Clark County farmer is the best way to be a conscious consumer, and become a co-producer with your local farmer.”

To see a listing of participating farms and to sign up for a share on Feb. 23, visit clarkcountygrown.org/csa.
