Dante Heitschmidt hit a big 3-pointer and Mathew Kogler and key rebound basket in the fourth quarter as the Falcons won fifth place in the 4A bi-district tournament.

At the end of the third quarter, Kaleb Locke hit a deep 3-pointer to put Prairie up 36-34. The Falcons were nursing a one-point lead in the fourth quarter when Heitschmidt hit his 3-pointer in transition.

Kogler’s basket put Prairie up to stay.

“I think the big story for us was holding (Wilson) to single digits in the first and fourth quarters,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said. “Just a tremendous defenisve effort by our guys.”

Braiden Broadbent and Kam Osborn paced the Falcons with 17 points each. Kogler had seven rebounds.

Prairie will have to wait to see where it falls in state seeding. But it appears the Falcons will finish ninth in the 3A RPI, and will have to play a loser-out regional game next weekend in Southwest Washington, potentially against Arlington.
