Mountain View second to Kelso at 3A district swim meet

KELSO — Fred Grimshaw won the 100 freestyle and 50 free, helping Mountain View to a second-place finish at the Class 3A District 4 swim championships Saturday at Kelso High School.

Grimshaw also teamed with Jacob McCarthy, Enoch Tsai and Christian Madden to help Mountain View win the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

McCarthy won an individual title in the 100 butterfly, Madden won the 500 free and Tsai won the 100 breaststroke.

Evergreen’s Ilia Zablotoviskii set a meet record in the 100 backstroke, winning in 52.65 seconds. The sophomore also won the 200 free.

Kelso won the team title with 342 points, 26 ahead of Mountain View.
