Construction continued Friday at The Waterfront Vancouver, the 32-acre development along The Columbia River, in this view from one of the project’s construction cranes.

Near the water, work is nearly done on two restaurant buildings, a park and the Grant Street Pier that will open in the summer. At Block 6 along Columbia Way, a seven-story office building and a six-story apartment are rising. And work recently started on a seven-story apartment with ground-floor shops along Grant Street.

A total of 21 blocks will be rebuilt into offices, apartments and restaurants by the time the project is done.
