For the second day this week, pockets of morning fog have emerged across the Portland-Vancouver area.

The National Weather Service said in a short-term forecast that Thursday’s fog started forming around 6:30 a.m. The fog is expected to gradually clear after the sunrise and through the morning hours, forecasters said.

The affected Clark County communities include Vancouver, Battle Ground, Ridgefield and Washougal.

Traffic maps show show fog alerts in the area of the Interstate 5 Bridge.

East and South across the Columbia River, Scappoose and Hillsboro are seeing visibility diminish to less than a mile, according to the weather service.

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should be alert and prepared for reduced or rapidly diminishing visibilities,” forecasters said.
