Brock Schoene had 16 points and X’Zayvier Washington added 11 but the Plainsmen were not able to keep up with Spanaway Lake in a first-round game of the 3A bi-district tournament.

Evergreen will play Hudson’s Bay at 6 p.m. Saturday at Heritage in a loser-out game.

Evergreen coach Brett Henry was proud of how his team played after the Plainsmen lost to Spanaway by 44 points in December.

“Our goal was to give ourselves a chance by halftime,” Henry said. “And we were still in it during the second half. It was 13-point game in the fourth quarter, but they made plays down the stretch.”
