Nominees for Week 8 winter sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Feb. 3.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

TYLER COMBS, UNION BOYS BASKETBALL: Combs averaged 22 points in three games, including 24 in the district title clinching win over Skyview.

GRACE GORDON, COLUMBIA RIVER GYMNASTICS: Gordon won district titles on the bars (9.7) and beam (9.55) and placed third in the all-around.

REAGAN LOREY, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS BOWLING: Lorey placed second at the 3A state tournament for the second consecutive season.

GRACE RUSSELL, HOCKINSON GIRLS BASKETBALL: Russell scored 26 points vs. Mark Morris to break the school single-season scoring record and had 17 points and 16 rebounds vs. Columbia River

RYLAN THOMPSON, CAMAS BOYS WRESTLING: Thompson dropped down in weight to capture the 132-pound title at the 4A district meet.
