The city of Vancouver has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The award is for Vancouver’s 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The certificate is the highest award for governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to a press release.
The award is based on the judgement of an impartial panel on the program’s high standards. Those standards include a demonstrative, constructive “spirit of full disclosure.”
