The Spudders won the San Diego Division of the Surf N Slam tournament in San Diego thanks to a smothering defense against the team from Lafayette, Calif.

“We’ve been working on a lot of things, and our defense was really good and that led to a lot of our points,” Ridgefield coach Tom Klutz said.

Kylie Greenwald scored 17 points with five 3-pointers, and Devi Dugan also had 17 points for the Spudders (7-3).

Allie Andrew, who was named MVP of the bracket, had a team-high 13 rebounds to go with nine points and three blocked shots.

Dugan and Karli Oliver were named all-tournament.
