Boys basketball: Battle Ground 78, Sacred Heart Prep 69

Brendan Beall made seven of his nine 3-pointers in the first half as the Tigers put up 54 points en route to the semifinal win over Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton, Calif., in the Slam Division bracket of the Surf ‘N Slam tournament at San Diego.

Beall scored a game-high 31 points. Vincent McCormic added 14 points and KeAndre Hunter-Holliday had 10. The Tigers made 14 3-pointers in the game.

Battle Ground (8-3) will face Irvington (9-1) of Fremont, Calif., in the championship game at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
