La Center — La Center Middle School adopted the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program to stop and prevent bullying.

The program is an effort by adults at the school to prevent bullying and intervene if it happens.

Students participate in weekly class meetings to learn about the consequences of bullying, what they can do about bullying, and how they can work with adults at the school to stop it. Parents are informed about the meetings, too.

“This program is about changing the whole school climate, making it safer and a better place to learn,” Principal, Lauri Landerholm said. “We want to make school a place that kids like and making them feel safer will go a long way toward that end.”
