Union quarterback Lincoln Victor added to his list of postseason honors Thursday as he was named the state football player of the year for all classifications by the Associated Press.
Victor, who helped Union to the Class 4A state championship earlier this month, had previously been selected as The Columbian’s All-Region player of the year, the state player of the year by the Tacoma News Tribune and the state co-player of the year by the Seattle Times, sharing the honor with teammate Darien Chase.
The all-state teams were selected through a statewide panel of media members.
Victor, a senior, passed for 2,498 yards and 25 yards and rushed for 796 yards and 10 touchdowns, despite missing 2.5 games with an injury in October.
In the postseason is where Lincoln shined best, completing 76 of 96 passes for 1,412 yards and 17 touchdowns in five playoff games. He was 19 for 24 for 327 yards and five touchdowns in the state title game against Lake Stevens.
