Two neighborhood traffic safety construction projects, in the Parkside neighborhood of east Vancouver and in the Lincoln and Northwest neighborhoods in its west, won funding as part of the city’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, which works with residents to manage and address traffic concerns in the city.

The project in the Parkside neighborhood will add a series of speed bumps along Northeast 141st Avenue, between Northeast 28th Street and Northeast 39th Street. The Lincoln and Northwest neighborhoods project will include crosswalk improvements, including pavement striping and crossing signals, at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and West 43rd Street.

The nearly $300,000 awarded for the projects comes from the city’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.

The two projects, along with two projects that were awarded funding in 2017, are slated for construction during the summer of 2019, according to the city.
