The Cougars took Kalama’s best shot and kept on rolling.
Gabe Anderson and Andrew Olson had 16 points each to lead Seton to a physical win.
“Boy, Kalama, two-time state champion in football, really brought everything from the football field to the basketball court,” Seton coach Kris Small said. “They are just so physical. Coach Wes Armstrong is such a good coach. Kalama is a game you look forward to because of how well they’re prepared. You don’t got into Kalama and expect to walk out with an easy win. You’re going to feel every bit of it.”
The difference came at the free throw line, where Seton was 20 of 32 compared to 7 of 15 for Kalama.
Isaiah Parker added 13 for the Cougars (7-1).
“Our system is not set for one person,” Small said. “Opportunities are there for everyone. It’s about who is able to convert those opportunities.”
