White sturgeon retention is closed from Buoy 10 at the mouth of the Columbia River upstream to the Oregon/Washington Border above McNary Dam, but remains an option for catch-and-release fishing.

A few plus-sized fall rainbow trout are still available in the lakes stocked on Black Friday.

Fall trout plantings have begun in local lakes and in the Columbia River Gorge, and fishing has been very good.

Trophy-sized brooder trout are being planted in local lakes and in the Columbia River Gorge.

Walleye fishing has slowed considerably in the Columbia River.

Early winter steelhead fishing in Salmon Creek is very slow.

Kokanee

Merwin Lake kokanee fishing continues to be good, although the extra-large fish that were being seen in the creels have not been found in the latest catches. Anglers are catching kokanee in the 12- to 14-inch range, but they are reportedly exceptionally chunky.

Yale Lake kokanee fishing continues to be good.

Walleye

Bonneville Pool — Weekly checking showed no catch for one boat (one angler).

The Dalles Pool — Weekly checking showed two walleye kept, plus one walleye released for two boats (four anglers).
