Boys basketball: Camas 88, Heritage 74

Carson Bonine scored 24 points to help the Papermakers hold off a resilient Heritage squad for a 4A Greater St. Helens League win.

Bonine had five of his team’s 14 3-pointers. He also helped Camas start fast, building a 26-13 lead after one quarter.

But Heritage battled back, outscoring Camas 27-17 in the second quarter.

“That says a lot about Heritage,” Camas coach Ryan Josephson said. “They showed a tremendous amount of fight.”

Camas (6-2, 1-1) had effective post play from Isaiah Sampson and Jackson Clemmer. Sampson had 17 points and 12 rebounds while Clemmer scored 10 points.

Keyler Struthers scored 26 points and Conner Childs added 17 for Heritage (5-4, 0-2).
