The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a man who was killed Dec. 7 while performing maintenance work on his vehicle as 42-year-old Hoang Nguyen.

Nguyen, a Vancouver resident, was found pinned beneath his vehicle, which appeared to have rolled on top of him while he was working on it in his driveway, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Robert Latter told The Columbian.

Firefighters and deputies found Nguyen when they were dispatched to the 12500 block of N.W. 26th Ave. shortly before 9 p.m. on the night of the incident.

The vehicle was reported to be an SUV, Latter said, and the parking brake had been set at the time of the accident.

The medical examiner’s office reported that Nguyen was killed in an accident. Traumatic asphyxia was listed as his cause of death.
