Add another local connection to the Ridgefield Raptors baseball team.
The new West Coast League club announced over the weekend it has signed Gonzaga sophomore pitcher Daniel Copeland, a Skyview High grad.
Copeland joins fellow Skyview alum Brody Barnum, a sophomore outfielder at Washington State, as members of the first Raptors squad. Barnum signed in November.
Other players recently signed include Oregon catcher Aaron Zavala, and Portland pitcher Peter Allegro.
The 2019 West Coast League season opens June 4 and runs through Aug. 11.
