Falcons coach Hala Corral estimated her team shot 70 percent on its 3-pointers, but it’s the defense that won them the game down the stretch after trailing entering the fourth quarter.

Prairie made 15 field goals in its nonleague victory and 13 came from 3-point range, highlighted by five from Cassidy Gardner (game-high 22 points).

But the defense, Corral said, made the defense down the stretch.

“We just reemphasized our defense,” she said. “The kids started getting after it defensively and it got us back into the game.”

Prairie outscored Glacier Peak 21-9 in the final quarter.
