Richard Ritchey visited Glenwood Heights Primary School on Thursday, but the focus was on his companions. Ritchey, known as the Reptile Man, brought a lot of different reptiles to show the pupils, a few of whom got a chance to interact with the creatures.
Kindergartner Scarlet Ferguson let a reticulated python rest around her neck; first-grader Liam Hansen held still as a uromastyx lizard perched atop his head; and kindergartner River VonRuden stared down a spur-thighed tortoise. Even the children who didn’t get to participate in Ritchey’s demonstrations were captivated.
