A skateboarder struck by two vehicles Thursday afternoon south of the Washington State University Vancouver campus remains in critical condition.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the skateboarder in a news release as 18-year-old Shon-Eithen X. Siguenza, of Vancouver.

Two cars struck Siguenza at about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast 29th Avenue and Northeast 134th Street.

The skateboarder was southbound on 29th Avenue approaching 134th Street and failed to stop for a crosswalk signal, said Sgt. Tim Bieber. A westbound vehicle struck Siguenza, throwing him into the eastbound lane where he was struck by the second vehicle, according to the sergeant.

“(Siguenza) was unconscious and non-responsive when deputies and medics arrived on scene,” the sheriff’s office said in its news release.

Both drivers stayed at the scene. The sheriff’s office said there was no indication of impairment in the involved drivers, and no charges have been recommended.

They were identified as Chelsea N. Williams, 27, of Longview, who was driving a Scion TC and Jacqueline Nolasco-Molina, 19, of Vancouver, who was behind the wheel of a Toyota Corolla.

It is unknown if the skateboarder was impaired, Bieber said.

Roadways in the area were impacted for about four hours during the investigation.
