A man and woman from Vancouver were killed when a pickup crashed head-on into their motorcycle Saturday afternoon near Cathlamet.

Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said a pickup crossed over the center line on state Highway 4 that afternoon and struck two motorcycles head-on, killing the two riders and injuring two others.

The state patrol identified the riders killed as William Neudorfer, 58, and Patricia Neudorfer, 54, who rode as a passenger. Both were from Vancouver.

The Wahkiakum County Eagle reported the couple on the other motorcycle, Wayne R. Priest and Brenda M. Priest of Sequim, were badly injured and airlifted to different hospitals.

Friends set up a GoFundMe fundraising page for both families, under “Help for our Family’s Tragedy.”

The pickup driver, Branson Chase Myers, 22, of Longview, was unhurt.

Troopers said driver impairment wasn’t a factor in the crash and recommended charges of second-degree negligent driving with a vulnerable user victim, for Myers.

The crime applies to reckless use of a vehicle in a way that could harm people or property, or a vulnerable user, which could apply to a motorcyclist.
