The West Coast League baseball team that will play in Ridgefield next year has launched a website.
Fans can get updates on the nascent franchise at https://ridgefieldbaseball.com.
The website also has a “name the team” contest. Readers can also sign up for a fan club and future ticket purchases.
The team will hold an official unveiling on Sept. 8 at Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex, a 53-acre sport facility that includes a baseball stadium fit to accommodate up to 2,500 people. The team’s name will be announced then.
The West Coast League is a wood-bat league for collegiate players with a season that includes roughly 60 games from early June to mid-August. The league has 12 teams in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia.
