Esther Short — More than 20 volunteers helped out at FISH of Vancouver on Aug. 4 at its new First Saturday opening of the food pantry. Volunteers served clients, stocked shelves, repacked food and sorted donations. FISH will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2019 and is expanding hours to serve more hungry families and individuals. Food is distributed to more than 4,400 people each month. The food pantry and clothes closet is open from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month.
