Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following, call 360-735-3690.

Clark County Connects, a one-day service event, seeks volunteers of all ages for its seventh-annual event. Kickoff is 8 to 9 a.m.; projects are from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8. Families, groups, and individuals are encouraged to register for the event where hundreds of volunteers accomplish a variety of projects around the county. Get information about projects and sign up at clarkcountyconnects.org.

Clark County Veterans Assistance Center seeks volunteers, 18 and older, for its annual Stand Down event on Sept. 15. Set-up help is needed Sept. 14. Volunteers must pass a criminal background check.

The Salvation Army Food Pantry, at 7508 N.E. 47th Ave., is open expanded hours — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays — and seeks additional help. Shifts, beginning at one hour per week, are flexible.

Volunteer Connections seeks help at its Senior Expo, Sept. 15 at ilani casino near Ridgefield. Set up, greet patrons, conduct surveys, or host a raffle table. Shifts are between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. To volunteer for this event, contact Kitty Hibbs at 360-735-3690 or kittyh@hsc-wa.org.
