The run for the KWRL Centerfield Roosters at the Babe Ruth World Series for 13-15 baseball teams ended Wednesday after a 16-4 loss to Mifflin County, Pa., in the semifinals in Longview.
Things got off to a bright start for the Roosters after scoring three runs in the top of the second inning.
Devyn Turner and Michael Goode opened the inning with back-to-back singles. Both players would score on consecutive groundouts. Derek Kropp’s single to left gave KWRL a 3-0 lead.
KWRL would take that 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third inning when Mifflin County put 10 runs on the board. The Pennsylvania team would add six more runs in the fourth inning.
