The KWRL Hit Squad baseball team was eliminated from the Babe Ruth 14-year-old World Series on Monday after an 8-3 loss to Norwalk, Conn.

Hit Squad went 1-3 in pool play at the 10-team event in Eagle Pass, Texas. The top three teams in two pools advanced to single-elimination play.

After New England champion Norwalk took a 2-0 in the top of the first, Hit Squad responded with two runs to tie the game.

Alden Fay, who led off with a walk, scored on Tyler Howard’s ground out, and then Max Mitchell, who also had walked, scored on a passed ball.

Norwalk would take the lead with a two-run third inning, and then added a run in the fourth and three in the sixth to put the game away.

Hit Squad’s third run was scored in the sixth. Seth Minor had singled with one out, advanced to third on Tanner Beaman’s hit, and with two outs, Parker Harris singled home Minor.

Beaman was 2 for 3 for Hit Squad in their final game.
