It appears the hot weather will be back with us all week with highs in the 90- to 95-degree range and maybe closer to or at 100 degrees if things set up just right. Saturday’s 83-degree high was pleasant, so I hope you enjoyed it.
Besides hot temperatures, we will have increased smoke and haze in the skies from wildfires to our south. The farther west you go, the less hazy skies, so eastern portions of Clark County may experience the most haze.
If you want to escape the heat wave this go-round, head to the immediate beaches. Fog will cover the sandy beaches close to the ocean with some partial clearing and sunshine at times. For the most part, it will be socked in as the past couple of weeks. Hot here, cool — or for some — cold there.
This is not great news for the dry conditions and the probability of wildfires across the state. Temperatures in Eastern Washington and Oregon will reach 100 degrees and above. Good news for ripening more of those tasty watermelons. Most counties and parks have banned outdoor burning of any kind, so check local regulations if you are going to be camping or hiking.
