Fire investigators say a reported explosion and blaze July 28 at a house in Vancouver’s North Garrison Heights neighborhood appears to have started on the home’s deck where there was a propane grill.
Crews were dispatched at 1:26 a.m. to 9016 N.E. 11th St., and arrived to find light smoke coming from the back porch of a single-story house. Three adult occupants were outside.
The home’s wood deck and barbecue propane grill were on fire, said Dean Bray, lead deputy fire marshal for the Vancouver Fire Department.
The blaze caused about $700 damage, he said, adding that the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
