The driver in a Wednesday crash on Interstate 5 near the Battle Ground exit was taken into custody on suspicion of impaired driving, a Washington State Patrol spokesman said.
Eric Lanz, 27, of Vancouver was cited on suspicion of impaired driving following the crash, at the northbound exit for state Highway 502 and Battle Ground shortly after 6 a.m., Trooper Will Finn said.
Lanz’s car veered off the east side of the freeway and hit a tree, which flipped the car onto its top. The crash pinned him inside, and firefighters had to cut him out.
He was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and was discharged later that day. Troopers also got a warrant for a blood draw, Finn said.
