Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3690.

C-Tran seeks volunteer travel ambassadors to help seniors and people with disabilities learn to safely and effectively use public transportation.

Clark County Veterans Assistance Center needs volunteers to help at the reception desk, greeting veterans and answering phones. Volunteers are also needed to direct veterans to needed resources.

Villages Clark County seeks volunteers to help bring an aging-in-place concept to life. Volunteers are needed for a variety of projects: serve on committees, help write articles or take photographs.

Vancouver Farmers Market needs volunteers to help at the Information booth, with gleaning, or to set up and take down.

West Columbia Gorge Humane Society in Washougal seeks volunteers to help clean the cat room and socialize the kitties, help in the office or with events. Foster families for dogs are also needed.

The 26th annual Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive seeks volunteers to help letter carriers collect bags of food donations, beginning at 10 a.m. on May 12. The donated food will benefit the Clark County Food Bank and its partner agencies. Last year, 125,535 pounds of food was donated; this year’s goal is 200,000 pounds.
