Nominees for Week 5 spring sports athletes of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athlete’s Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 21.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

LUCY GEORGE, CAMAS GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: The freshman won the 100 hurdles (14.84), 300 hurdles (46.87) and high jump (5-6) at the McMinnville Invitational.

MAX ROSE, SKVYIEW BASEBALL: Rose went 5 for 11 with a double and 4 RBI and threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.

KALLIE SAKAMOTO, WASHOUGAL GIRLS GOLF: Sakamoto was the medalist with a 39 at Orchard Hills and a 43 at Mint Valley.

KYLEE SNIDER, PRAIRIE SOFTBALL: Snider went 9 for 13 with two home runs and nine RBI in three league wins for the Falcons.

BRYAN TAVERA, RIDGEFIELD BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Tavera won the long jump (20-1) and triple jump (44-10) at the McMinnville Invitational.
