Clark County — Students from Evergreen High School and Mountain View High School scored some top-20 finishes in national mathematics contests administered by National Assessment & Testing. Evergreen High School placed 11th in the nation in the 2017 Team Scramble, during which students work together to solve 100 time-consuming problems in 30 minutes. Mountain View High School placed 18th in the country in the 2017 Ciphering Time Trials, which is a fast-paced 10-round contest in which students attempt to solve three problems covering a range of difficulties and topics. Fahmid Rahman placed third in the ninth-grade division for Mountain View. Rahman also placed fifth in the youngest division of the 2018 Four-by-Four competition, helping Mountain View finish 12th in the country. That competition is similar to the Ciphering Time Trials, except it is made up of teams of four.
