Spotlight on Youth

WASHINGTON STATE SCHOLASTIC ART & WRITING AWARDS

Joohye Lee of Shahala Middle School, Eric Hu of Union High School, and Isreal Colunga of Mountain View High School were Gold Key award winners in the Washington State Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program for students in grades seven through 12. Lee and Hu won awards in the Art category; Colunga won in the Writing category. Other students, all from Vancouver, received honorable mention. They are: Olivia Soliz, Fort Vancouver High School, and Ryan Bittner, Vancouver School of Arts & Academic, both in Art; and Christina Starks, Vancouver School of Arts & Academics, in Writing.

The students were recognized at ceremonies last month in Seattle.
