Camas senior wideout Drake Owen had little to say about his performance this evening, as he chose to defer his achievements to the blocking in front of him.
But he sure can silence an otherwise rowdy home crowd.
Owen and his blockers gave the visiting Papermakers the jumpstart they needed, as he took the initial kickoff of the second-half 84 yards, en route to a 35-0 shutout of Battle Ground to open 4A GSHL play.
A big factor in Camas’ slow start this evening can be attributed to a combination of a steady Battle Ground rushing attack-led by Brock Robinson’s 18 first half carries-as well as committing 69 first half penalty yards.
“Battle Ground is a very physical team,” Camas senior linebacker Taylor Adams said of the challenge of shutting a team out. “We’re just trying to focus on doing our own job as individuals and trusting that the guy next to you his doing his.”
