How Clark County college football players fared, Sept. 23

By Micah Rice, Columbian Sports Editor

James Price made his first catch of the season a significant one.

The junior receiver from Camas missed Wyoming’s first three games with a broken collarbone. Saturday, his only catch went for a 25-yard touchdown in overtime to give the Cowboys a 28-21 win over Hawaii.

In a postgame news conference, Price was asked about having his first catch be a game-winner.

“It definitely wasn’t planned but it was good to have that be the first catch back,” he said. “I don’t know if it was designed to go to me. I know when the play was called I was ready to make a play. As (quarterback Josh Allen) went through his progressions, he found me just a little bit open. That’s all it takes, sometimes.”

After going through some contact practices, Price said he knew by Thursday he would be ready to play on Saturday.
