BATTLE GROUND — Junior quarterback Jayson Maddux scored a 4-yard touchdown with 2:55 left in the game and junior Taylor Lawhead’s extra point gave the Prairie Falcons a come-from-behind 21-20 victory over the Battle Ground Tigers in non-league action Friday night at District Stadium.
On the ensuing possession Nolan Mickenham’s interception sealed the Falcons’ first win of the season.
Battle Ground controlled the first half of the game behind the running of senior Brock Robinson, who carried the ball 22 times for 212 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers took a 12-0 lead into halftime.
Prairie (1-3) erased that deficit in the first three minutes of the second half. Payton Millet returned the second-half kickoff 54 yards to put the Falcons on the board and Aaron Brumley’s 13-yard run gave Prairie a 14-12 lead.
